Wildlife Surveys

The Kern Water Bank conducts wildlife surveys to document the significant environmental benefits the project brings to the southern San Joaquin Valley. The Wildlife folder contains annual reports that document populations of San Joaquin kit foxes, Tipton kangaroo rats, and other mammals, and special status plants. The ongoing bird surveys document the significant populations of upland birds, raptors, and water birds that occupy water bank lands. Other surveys document such things as the aquatic ecology of our recharge basins.
